Reclaiming the Village: Restorying Our Values and Honoring Our Voices

MAAFA 2025 is a two-part sacred journey.

 

The MAAFA Mbongi (Learning Center) is a weeklong series of FREE teaching sessions focused on mending work. With the help of sacred guides and healing conversations attendees will collectively cultivate a space of ease that restores balance, and centers clarity and collective healing.

The MAAFA Production is an immersive theatrical performance that embodies the African story of struggle, memory, and liberation as a result of the transatlantic slave trade. (Tickets for the production are $50 per night.)

2025 MAAFA Mbongi Registration

General registration includes breakfast (Mon-Fri 8:30 AM), access to MAAFA Mbongi teaching sessions (Mon-Fri 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM) and lunch (Mon-Fri 12:00 PM). All morning sessions will be available for online viewing via Zoom for registered attendees.


***NOTE: The MAAFA Mbongi is FREE to attend. Additional fees will be assessed to attend the MAAFA theatrical productions.***

 Community members are invited to engage a course designed to investigate what healing from communal trauma looks and feels like. This is theological and social justice orientation to addressing the ways of recovery and rejuvenation as a community. Auditing participants must attend at least three days of the MAAFA MBongi.
