Sontaia Briggs

Director of Communications & Strategic Initiatives

Sontaia P. Briggs is a Queer faith activist, speaker, strategist, and youth advocate who works at the intersection of identity, spirituality, education, and belonging. With a prophetic voice and a pastoral heart, she partners with churches, nonprofits, schools, and community organizations to cultivate spaces where young people and marginalized communities can experience faith as liberating, healing, and joy-filled.

With more than fifteen years of experience across nonprofit leadership and higher education, Sontaia's work centers on youth empowerment, educational equity, and organizational capacity-building. She has supported K–12 literacy initiatives, college access programming, and institutional development efforts that align mission, data, and community impact.

Her ministry intentionally centers those whose experiences of gender and sexuality have not always been affirmed within traditional faith spaces. Through national trainings, keynotes, and panels, she supports communities in deepening theological imagination, radical welcome, and faithful accountability.

Sontaia is the co-creator of Experimental Radio and Queer Bible Study, projects that reimagine sacred text and spiritual practice through lenses of liberation and belonging. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University–Newark and a Master of Arts in Urban Youth Ministry from New York Theological Seminary.
