
Rev. Dr. Courtney Wiley-Harris
Executive Pastor
Courtney Wiley-Harris, DMin. has had a diverse career, blending education, ministry, and development work in a way that demonstrates deep commitment to both community and spiritual growth. Her extensive experience in institutional advancement, particularly in theological education, reflects a unique combination of skills in fundraising, organizational leadership, and spiritual gifts of administration, teaching and stewardship.
She most recently served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School (CRCDS) from 2019 to May 2025 in Rochester, NY. Before this role, she spent 13 years at New York Theological Seminary, where she was part of the Development Team, ultimately serving as Vice President for Development and Institutional Advancement for the last three years of her tenure.
Her journey in education started as a community nutritionist, teaching for the NYC WIC program and then 13 years in New York City public schools, as a Middle School teacher of Home and Career Skills, English and Math.
Courtney received her undergraduate education at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. She holds a Master of Arts in Urban Affairs with a focus on Non-Profit Management from Hunter College (CUNY) and earned a Master of Divinity degree from New York Theological Seminary. Additionally, she is a Certified Religious Fundraiser through the Lilly School of Philanthropy and earned a Certificate in Graduate Education Management from the Harvard Institute of Education Management. Her Doctor of Ministry thesis, also from NYTS, is titled "Practicing a Theology of Development." Courtney serves as affiliate/adjunct faculty at Lexington Theological Seminary and Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School.
Along with her lived work experiences and volunteerism in the community, she conjoins the work of the academy and the ministry of the church, most recently accepting the call to serve as Executive Pastor at St. Paul Community Baptist Church in her home of Brooklyn, NY.
