Restorying Our Past Through Sacred Memory

We are from a people who traditionally revered our elders through the passing down of our history by way of story telling. Each successive generation knew from whom they descended.

That was until the first generation post enslavement. Many stories were lost because of the painful memories. But not all of them. Some stories were passed down to the successive generations however their effect on our collective psyche can be evidenced in the disconnection and dysfunction throughout our community.

This project seeks to resurrect and honor the Africa tradition of the village elders sharing their history in hopes that through their sacred memories we will heal our trauma and reconnect to our sacred Spirit.

We are looking for adults, 75 years or older who are willing to share their history through on camera interviews. Deadline to sign up is extended to June 9.
