Thomas Carter

Thomas John Carter was born in Harlem, NY, on October 19, 1939, to Ms. Jennie Miller and Mr. Albert Carter. He married Ms. Allena Allen, and two children, Tainer and Tracy, were born from this union. With faith in Jesus Christ, Thomas overcame his struggles with addiction. On January 23, 1976, Thomas married Ms. Hortense Broughton, the love of his life. They have been married for 49 years.

In 1984, Thomas joined the St. Paul Community Baptist Church. Ten years later, he was consecrated to the Board of Elders. Drawing from his background, he was assigned as Servant Leader over Wounded Healers, working alongside Ms. Martha Simmons, Elder Frank Kinard, and Minister Ose Akoto. Thomas retired from the Brooklyn Navy Yard in 2004 but remains passionately involved in serving others. His favorite scripture is 2 Chronicles 7:14.
