Sheila Ligon-Bennett
Sheila Ligon-Bennett is a dedicated servant leader who deeply loves God and has a passion for nurturing and inspiring children. Her faith serves as the foundation of her leadership, driving her unwavering commitment to service and her mission to make a meaningful impact on the community.
Sheila has had the privilege and honor of serving as the Pearl Advisor with the Pearl Collective, an organization devoted to studying the Word of God and fostering the spiritual growth and empowerment of young girls. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she continued working with the Pearls, providing guidance and support to ensure that these young women could continue to develop spiritually and thrive during a challenging time.
In 2019, Sheila was consecrated as a member of the Council of Wise Jewels, a significant milestone that reflects her dedication to spiritual leadership and guidance. For more than 15 years, she has faithfully served within the Maafa in the role of Property Mistress a position rooted in cultural preservation, and ministry.
Sheila is on a continuous journey of learning and service, striving to grow as a "Mender Becoming" under the guidance of Mama Itihari. Her path is defined by a commitment to healing and supporting others. She can often be found greeting the congregation and joyfully serving as a Gatekeeper, a role that allows her to welcome and nurture individuals as they embark on their own faith journeys.
While she wears many hats, Sheila is a wife to Michael Bennett. Sheila considers one of her greatest accomplishments to be her role as a mother to her two daughters, Ajane and Ejana Bennett, and her bonus son, Michael. She is also blessed with her first granddaughter, Dakota Raine Lewis, and bonus grandsons, who bring immense joy to her life.
