Karen Grier

Karen Monique Glover-Grier was born in Brooklyn, NY, on March 25, 1965, to Lorenzo and Elease Glover (My Dad, My Hero, now My Ancestor…. Forever Watching over Me!). The eldest of three children, Karen’s love for education began early, graduating from the Intellectually Gifted Program and later Clara Barton High School for Health Professions in Brooklyn where she majored in Nursing. At Hunter College, during her sophomore year, Karen became intrigued with the social sciences, specifically psychology and early childhood development. A graduate of Hunter and Brooklyn Colleges, Karen began a career that would impact, motivate, and change the lives of many, including children of various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

Karen’s spiritual journey was nurtured by her maternal and paternal grandmothers. Known as a “Woman with a Heart for God,” Karen is a peacemaker, great listener, and lover of life. She enjoys cooking, painting, and traveling. She is the proud mother of two daughters, Brittany Anne and Thea Nicole Grier. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 31:26.
