Gloria Miller
Gloria Diane Miller is the daughter of James Arthur Porch and Etta Mae Porch. She was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., but spent most of her childhood and adulthood in the New York neighborhoods of Harlem, Prospect Heights, and East New York.
Although she has one daughter, she was blessed to be a bonus mom to five additional children. Gloria is also a proud grandmother. The energy of her life is fueled by her love of God and children.
Gloria earned her bachelor's degree in business administration while enjoying a thirty-year career in the communications industry. During her years as a director of training and development, her focus was on creating career paths for women and men of color who had been underrepresented in managerial and policymaking positions. After retiring, she became a consultant and traveled the country training policies, procedures, and systems.
When Gloria joined St. Paul, she decided to devote her first ten years to intense study because as a follower of Jesus, she wanted to learn more about praying, teaching, and healing. After that time, Gloria became a teacher in the ministry to children, a member of the leadership of the women's ministry, and assistant to the Coordinator of Women's Ministry. Currently, as the Director of Women's Ministry, Gloria, along with the Council of Wise Jewels, provides programming, listening, mentorship, and counseling to women while ensuring that activities align with St. Paul's mission and values. As the chairperson, Gloria serves along with the Board of Trustees to uphold their fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of St. Paul. Gloria is also a member of the Prayer Intercessor Ministry. She prays to be the bridge, vessel, path, and gateway for the young generation that is coming forth.
St. Paul is called to advocate for justice, be a learning village, and a theologically curious community, so Gloria is looking forward to the endless possibilities in 2025.
