Alice Blackmon

Alice Blackmon was born in Darlington, South Carolina, to Ms. Louise Lighty. She is the eldest of three siblings and was raised by her grandparents, Clyde and Leila Lighty. Alice’s spiritual journey began in childhood, where attending church was a family requirement. A 20-year cancer survivor, she views her life as being divinely purposed to serve others.

Alice retired from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Course Oversight Auditor after 42 years in federal government service. She holds an associate degree in occupational studies and is a Licensed Massage Therapist. Believing in the power of physical touch, especially for seniors, Alice has also trained in various energy healing modalities, including Healing Touch, Reiki, and Pranic Healing.

At SPCBC, Alice has been involved in numerous ministries, including Unity Dance Ministry, Hospitality, and Women’s Ministry, where she has held various leadership roles for over 20 years. She is currently a member of the Council of Wise Jewels, H.S.S.P. (Baby Dedication), MAAFA Healing Ministry, Menders Becoming, and Prayer Intercessor teams.

Alice is divorced and the proud mother of two children, Ashley Joy and David Joseph III. Her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13.
