Rev. James Singletary

Pastor for Family Life Ministry

He is responsible for supporting for setting the strategic plan in the development of the Family Life Ministry. He serves as the principal in research, development, and implementation of SPCBC Family Life Ministry which focuses on spiritual, social, educational, and emotional needs of youth and families at SPCBC and adjacent communities.  Rev. James brings with him more the 20 years of experience serving, supporting and advocating for children, youth and family well-being.  Additionally, he has substantial training and experience as an executive administrator in the non-profit sector and in higher education.  As a creative, he has an impressive resume as a professor, director, actor, and dramaturg and has supported the MAAFA Ministry for 19 years and counting in multiple capacities including acting, teaching, coaching, casting, and directing.  Rev. James holds M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary in Systematic Theology and Art, M.S.S.W from Columbia University in Social Enterprise Administration and M.F.A. from The New School in Performing and Dramatic Arts.  His favorite scripture in this season is Micah 6:8.
