Donations for Haiti

May 30, 2010 (Brooklyn, New York)

Thank you for answering the call and generously donating your time and resources to St. Paul Community Baptist Church in support of the tragic natural disaster which struck the country of Haiti in January.

An earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced, the magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from the capital city of
Port-au-Prince.  While the country continues to rebuild, it is due in part to the support of the hundreds of people who gave through their time, talent and finances to our ministry to forward on to Yéle Haiti, Doctors Without Borders and UNICEF that has made progress possible in the ravaged country.

St. Paul Community has been engaged in this initiative since almost immediately after the earthquake hit and devastated the nation, killing and displacing hundreds of thousands.  Every donation, small and large, has gone a long way in providing a ray of hope for the resilient people of
Haiti

Currently, St. Paul Community is only accepting financial donations that will be forwarded to partner organizations.  Every organization that receives your gifted funds will be fully vetted and researched to assure as much of your donation as possible goes toward those most in need.

To make a financial donations, please make checks or money orders out to St. Paul Community Baptist Church and be sure to include Yele Haiti in the memo line.  Online, please visit our website at
www.spcbc.com, click “online giving” and select “Yele Haiti” in the dropdown menu.

Thank you again for your support.

January 13, 2010/January 19, 2010  (Brooklyn, New York) - We have been riveted to the news for updates on the current situation that has paralyzed and destroyed the country of Haiti. Our thoughts and prayers are with our St. Paul Community family, fellow New Yorkers and anyone who has been directly affected by this catastrophe.

Our city is home to over 125,000 New Yorkers who hail from this beautiful country where they say poverty overwhelms, but we know God’s Spirit endures.

In response to this tragedy, St. Paul Community Baptist Church has partnered with Yele Haiti, the non-profit Haiti support foundation founded and led by Grammy® Award Winner, Wyclef Jean.

UPDATED LIST - - - Items to donate include water, solar flash lights, power bars/protein bars, medical supplies (first aid kits, gauze, antibacterial liquid, etc..).  Please donate only these items as this is the specific request of Yele Haiti.  Unfortunately, items other than those listed will not be accepted at our location.

Financial donations are also being accepted. Please make checks or money orders out to St. Paul Community Baptist Church and be sure to include Yele Haiti in the memo line.  Online, please visit our website at www.spcbc.com, click “online giving” and select “Yele Haiti” in the dropdown menu.
