Provides spiritual counseling, assessment, referrals and follow up to members of the congregation and staff who are being challenged by disease, illness, bereavement and addiction.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Stroman & Skinner 350 Hour CASAC Certificate Program

Stroman and Skinner Training and Consulting Associates are an approved, NYS OASAS 350 hour CASAC (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse) Certificate Program who qualify professionals in the field of substance abuse to pass the ICRC/AODA exam through a series of 39 approved available curriculums. Courses offered range from pharmacology to gambling in the African American Community. Individual classes on HIV/AIDS, Family and Addiction, Assessment and Treatment Planning can be taken individually.
The course is segmented as 5-month modules during the day or 10-month modules during the evening and Saturday. Trainings are geared toward educating participants to empower community residents and therefore, enhance the quality of life for many.

Cancer Care & Support Group

Mission:
A biblically- based initiative that provides an encouraging forum for individuals diagnosed with any form of cancer throughout their journey by means of spiritual enhancement, educational resources and individual/collective counseling.

Meetings*:
2nd Wednesday monthly - 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Last Friday monthly - 6:00pm - 8:00pm
(*) Family Support meetings to encourage those family members & friends who are caretakers and/or provide emotional support for persons with cancer. 2012 meeting dates: April 27, July 27, October 27

Wounded Healers
Servant Leader: Elder Tom Carter
Meetings: Tuesdays at 6:00pm

This group serves to be a bridge of transition for persons who have walked the road of addiction.   Wounded Healers seeks to serve as a recovery outpost for those affected by addiction as participant or a close observer.  In this ministry, persons with any form addiction - drugs, alcohol, smoking, sex, food, etc. are encouraged and welcome to attend.
